Which entity regulates your broker?
The single most misunderstood line in broker marketing, explained in 3 minutes.
One brand, many companies
A broker group might hold an FCA licence in London, an ASIC licence in Sydney โ and register Thai clients under a Seychelles entity. The licence in the advert is real; it just may not be YOUR licence.
What tier really means
Tier-1 (FCA, ASIC): strict capital rules, compensation schemes, leverage caps. Tier-2 (CySEC, FSCA): solid but lighter. Tier-3/offshore (Seychelles, Belize, BVI, Vanuatu): fast onboarding, high leverage, thin protection. Thai clients almost always get the Tier-3 entity โ that is the industry norm, not a scam sign, but you should know it. See a broker whose Tier-3 entity we've independently confirmed.
How to check in 60 seconds
Scroll to the broker's website footer. The tiny text names the exact company and regulator serving your region. Compare it with the licence numbers on our review pages โ we verify them against the regulators' own registers.
